On the road

Well that was hectic. I left Tuesday night and stayed at the Walton campsite for Tuesday and Wednesday, had 19 appointments with private customers, Thursday was a training day for Matt,  did a three year tree management plan, got the van through it's MOT, did noc-migging, visited the farmlands with Zach, met up with Lee and Rachel for sushi in Weighbridge, went to the garden centre to buy some plants for the Old Vic, met Gillian and did a walk to the Carshalton Park Sweet Chestnuts, fielded the usual flood of emails on the road (and worked out how to get wi-fi Netflix in the van) and then got back to the Old Vic for Thursday evening. Seems being on the road is more productive than being office based. Exhausting though.

Beddington ebird list HERE. Highlight was finding three recently fledged Lapwings flying around 100 acre. Also had 10 Green Sandpipers, 3 Common Sandpipers and a Greenshank flew over calling.

Got back to the Old Vic and put the moth trap straight on as bit of a warm spell at moment. According to irecord I've had another 9 new species for the site recently.

A few other highlights below.

Little Owl at the campsite- woke me up at 5am on Wednesday morning

Lapwing young at Beddington Farmlands- great to know they fledged successfully- hopefully the Save the Lapwing campaign had a positive impact. What we could see of 100 acre habitat looked very good and looks like it is being managed well.

Small Fan-footed Wave
Dusky Pearl, also had Olive Pearl and Straw-barred Pearl (below)
