First Day of Part-time Nomadism

So the Beddington obs is now rented out and I'm living in the campervan for two to three days a week now while working in London. This is all part of our plan to save up to buy an eco-farm in about five years time. So last night was my first night living on the road and I stayed at Walton-on-Thames Camping and caravan club site. It was really nice - better than my flat in Hackbridge!

I did a bit of noc-mig from the campervan and had Common Sandpiper and Little Owl and also put an LED moth trap out - not much just lots of Bird-cherry Ermines, Common Grass Veneers, a Short-cloaked Moth, Oak Scallop and Buff-tip. Went for a walk on Molesey Heath yesterday evening- habitat looks good for passerines.

This evening I did a couple of hours back at Beddington Farmlands while waiting for the M25 traffic to abate before heading back to the country. Ebird list HERE. Nice to see the Pochard family doing well.

First night living 'on the road'- a nice site at Walton-on-Thames (above and below)

Pyramidal Orchid on Molesey Heath
Juvenile Blackcap at Beddington- good numbers of young Blackcaps about
The Pochard family. 11 Teal was also a note worthy record on the duck front.
A couple of new garden plants today at work: Tartarian Honeysuckle (above) and Five-seed Plume Poppy (below). Always good to see different plants in people's gardens.
