Selsey Bill Seawatch

A system went through on Thursday night with pretty strong southwest winds so I thought I would try my luck on a seawatch at Selsey Bill on Friday morning.

Highlight was a juvenile Black Tern, a few waders moving round and an increase in Gannet numbers. Ebird list HERE. There's a few Balearics off Portland and further southwest there are large numbers of Cory's, Wilson's Petrels and other seabirds so fingers crossed we get a bit of trickle down here.

This morning I had a quick look at Ferry Pool, highlight there was a Whinchat and a family of Stonechat.

While I was doing the moths this morning a Whimbrel flew pretty low over the garden calling.

Juvenile Black Tern

Black-tailed Godwits- quite a scarce bird for the Bill
Back at Little Oak Lodge, we've filled up and fitted a filter and pump to the front garden pond (Jimmy's wonky Pond) so now waiting for the pond life to arrive- already Great Diving Beetle and a smaller water beetle in there.
