Apparently I had a couple of good moth species for Bulgaria on the recent trip there. Thanks to Steve and the guys at the Moths of Bulgaria I-naturalist project for help with the identifications (Noctuids HERE and link to all sub-projects HERE).
I had four species which were new for the regional I-naturalist project, the two Dichagyris species below, Uncertain and Langmaid's Yellow Underwing.
The two species below are not only local in Bulgaria but good lookers too, so well pleased with that.
Our site project with the 240 species so far recorded HERE. Looking forward to returning in September to hopefully target migrant moths in the region (and looking for vagrant birds too).
Black and White Dart, Dichagyris melanura. A species distributed from the Balkans to Iran and Iraq eastwards to the Middle East.
Candlestick Dart, Dichagyris candelisequa. A more widely distributed species from Morrocco across Southern Europe towards Central Asia.
