Another year and another traditional herping trip with Dylan and Anton, this time back to Kresner to hunt for Leopard Snake.
First Snake of the herping trip was Caspian Whip Snake (above and below)
Plenty of Spur-thighed Tortoise around including several young ones
This Four-lined Snake was an absolute stunner
Next on the herping trip list was Caspian Turtle
and after checking a mountain side at dusk we conceded defeat and headed back to the car. We stopped off to buy some drinks from the roadside outlets and the owner asked us if we were looking for butterflies. We told him we were looking for snakes and he said he had just seen a snake in the toilets of the restaurant. So we went to check it out and indeed it was what we had spent all day looking for- this absolute stunning young Leopard Snake
