The Old Vic, Clearwings finally

I've been trying the myo, tip and ves pheromone lures over the last two or three weeks and had no luck at all... until today.

Red-belted Clearwings (above and two photos below). There were four of these in the pheromone trap attracted to a myo and tip combo

Orange-tailed Clearwing- attracted to ves. This is a lifer.
The first Lime Hawkmoth of the year, with an Elephant Hawkmoth
I was moaning about not getting any migrants but three of these (Green Oak Tortrix) today and one a couple of days ago seems to be part of a large immigration event (mainly on the south east coast). Also had 2 Silver-Y in the trap this morning (below).

Hook-streak Grass Veneer. Another new for year. Over 150 moths of 55 species in the trap and garden this morning. Now on 159 for the year and with the two Clearwings the all time site total is 504.
Spectacle (above) and Dark Spectacle (below)- both new for years

Another confusion pair (for me anyway). Marbled Orchard Tortrix (above) with it's rather plain distal area of the forewing and Plum Tortrix (below) with extensive markings. Hope I've got these right or I'm still confused.

Just another one for the variation in Large Nutmegs (I hope I've got it right). They really are very variable not only in tones and markings but also size
Great to see this Coal Tit family- the adults have been quiet recently so a pleasant surprise to see them re-appear with what's been keeping them busy. I saw three newly fledged young and two adults.
More young Blue Tits out now, flying (barely) around the garden in small family parties still being fed by the adults and also being introduced to the bird feeders. It's literally warming to see these birds (including the Coal Tits) thriving on the food (and nest boxes) being supplied

The chicken house is ready for the chicks to transition in a few weeks time
