Euro Trip Day 6: Arrival at the Black Sea Coast

Paul and Dylan finalising the route plan. We estimated 3 hours to get to our destination- it took us 8 hours, after having to deal with the hire car accelerating out of control by itself and brake failure warnings, a couple of crisp stops, the inability to estimate distance and time and also a meet up with Dimiter to discuss plans over the next few days
As we arrived into the Tyulenovo area there were literally birds everywhere including injured and dead birds (presumably from exhaustion or car strikes). This first-winter White Wagtail had an injured wing. We caught it from the road and let it go in our hotel garden.
 This Bee-eater had got unlucky.
By the time we arrived at the hotel we only had an hour of light. In that time, around the back of the hotel we had Roller, 6 Bee-eaters, 2 Red-backed Shrike, 1 Red-breasted Flycatcher, Sparrowhawk (plus 10+ on the jounrey), 3 Marsh Harrier, Common Buzzard, 10-100s of Yellow and White Wagtails, 3 Swallow, 100s of Corn Bunting, Willow Warblers, Whitethroat, a loucestella sp and this Cuckoo.
A flock of Grey Herons flew south at dusk. I was wondering why I had seen so little evidence of migration across my travels?....all the birds are here. Literally cannot wait for tommorrow!
