I did the main part of Cuttlebrook Nature Reserve this morning which is a short walk from the new rental- we basically live on Cuttlebrook itself. Ebird list here . 32 species so not a bad little mid-winter haul. Some nice little micro habitats including wetland, pond, rough and wetland meadows and various areas of copse and wood. Bird highlights included a female Bullfinch, Lesser Redpoll and a couple of Treecreepers. The area looks good for a wintering sibe like Sibe Chiff or Yellow-browed so will try and keep an eye on the area but the lower part of the brook that I checked earlier on in the week had a lot more potential and also less disturbed.
A few more moths recently back at the rental including Chestnut, Light Brown Apple Moth and a couple more Winter moths. Seems like plenty of habitat along Cuttlebrook for some interesting moths which hopefully we can explore next season.
