The Bulgarian moth I-naturalist team are getting through the audit of our moths that we caught this September and we've now got 314 species identified (for the project) and mostly verified HERE. Sounds like some of our records will be included in a paper for the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences reporting on rare moths in Bulgaria in 2022-2023 so looking forward to seeing that paper.
Also Arjun has been making progress with going through the noc-mig recordings and he has confirmed Firecrest that we thought we had and also has picked up Little Bittern, Night Heron and Ortolan on the noc-mig so far.
Blog posts on his visit to Bulgaria by Arjun HERE and HERE.
A few newly identified moths (and lifers) below:
Idaea camparia
Still working through some of the micros- I was thinking this might be something like Echium Leaf-miner, Dialectica scalariella?
Marbled Grass Veneer, Catoptria Verellus
Stemmatophora brunnealis
