Latest Insects

 Nematopogon swammerdamella- A first for Beddington Farmlands
 Cabbage Moth- a few other moths in the trap in late April including Pale Mottled Willow, Hebrew Character, Bright-line Brown, Nut-tree Tussock, Garden Pebble and Shuttle Shaped Dart. During the day quite a few Adela reaumurella on the bridge. 
 The first Damselfly of the year
 Syrphus ribesii
Helophilus pendulus
Cheilosia bergenstammi ?
 
Speckled Wood- also Green-veined White, Orange Tip, Brimstone, Peacock and Holly Blue around lately 
Eupeodes luniger?
Myathropa florea? (Characteristic 'batman' sign on thorax?)
Least Black Arches- another first for Beddington Farmlands. Thanks for id Surrey Moths

A few migrants etc today; 1 Cuckoo, 1 Red Kite, 2-3 Common Buzzard, 1 Hobby, 1 Peregrine,1  Sparrowhawk, 2 Kestrel, 4 Common Sandpiper on Southern Lake, 30+ Swift, 20+ Sand Martin, 10+ Swallow, 10 Reed Warbler, 2 Sedge Warbler, 2-3 Lesser Whitethroat, 25-30 Common Whitethroat, 2 Chiffchaff and 10+ Blackcap.

Been busy on the bird front so not much time to identify the insects that are coming out. Will update with ids as soon as time permits. A couple of moths which are firsts for the farmlands.
