Oman Day Twelve

Today (3rd December) we continued tracking down the local specialities in the Salalah region. We started off with a nice Eagle fest around a carcass by the roadside and then headed over to Tawi Atayr sinkhole HERE and bagged the Yemen Serin, Arabian Partridge and Long-billed Pipit and while having a coffee break a juvenile Amur Falcon flew over the coffee shop which was a long awaited lifer. We then headed to the incredible Jabal Samhan with breath taking views over the Dhofar mountains and saw the local Verreaux's Eagles HERE and then spent the evening back at Wadi Ashawq HERE trying for the Desert Owls again. We had three birds singing but only managed to see a rather distant bird with eye shine.
