Ring Ouzels (Three males- all three in tree)
First-summer male Redstart
Redstart in flight- what a tail!
Male and female Garganey (also the wintering bird probably still present- its been elusive)
Common Sandpiper- four today
First-winter male Wheatear
Wheatear on the ploughed area- been well used by migrants this Spring (cheers Viridor)
Cowslip- 20+ on the mound.
Migrants everywhere. What an exhausting day (Dave 'Swift' going for the Rouzels)
Nice Day! 3 male Ring Ouzel, 7 Wheatear, 1 male Redstart, 9 Willow Warbler, 8 Chiffchaff, 15+ Blackcap, 2 Sedge Warbler, 15+ Swallow, 6+ Sand Martin, 1 Redshank, 4 Common Sandpiper, 1 Snipe, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 LRP, 10 Lapwing and 2 Garganey.
Following the weekend disappointment this weak cold/occluded front produced the goods today. It felt right this morning- mild, not too windy and overcast skies. Light westerlies tomorrow with clearer skies- not ideal fall conditions but will see. Ringers are out tomorrow too.
Today's fall coincided with a big fall at Dungeness and also a fall at Portland.
