Another spring day

Male Blackcap (singing it's head off). About 4 males along the North lake path, also Willow Warbler there and 2 Chiffchaff. Had a Red Kite this evening, the guys had a Whimbrel this morning and a Wheatear, the first Yellow Wagtail of the year, a LRP and a few hirundines. The Great Crested Grebe is still with us, Gadwalls were flying round in courtship display (so hope they will breed), the Shelducks are hanging around near the gate by the rabbit holes (good sign), seems like going to be another good year for Little Grebes but unfortunately seems like the female Lesser Pecker is on her own again (maybe a control freak!?) . There's a front moving through tonight so might induce a fall- I'm up early tomorrow.
I reckon this is Eristalis Pertinax. Loop vein on R4+5 means it's Eristalis sp. Broad darkened face and yellow tarsi on the front and middle legs suggests Pertinax. I also reckon I had Syrphus ribesii, Cheilosia pagana, Melanostoma scalare and Epistrophe Eligans today.
ahhhhh, this is exhausting- will leave the sawfly id for later. Aglaostigma aucupariae
