Picking off the endemics continued today with Sri Lanka Woodpigeon, Dull Blue Flycatcher and Sri Lanka Bush Warbler (heard). Our guide also heard the Whistling Thrush but the weather was terrible and no further sight or sound.

Three new endemics today: Yellow-eared Bulbul, Sri Lankan Scimitar Babbler and Sri Lanka White-eye.

Most of today was travelling to Nuwara Eliya. Stopped off at a tree plantation on the way and did Victoria Park in the afternoon.

New endemics today were Sri Lanka Junglefowl, Spot-winged Thrush, Brown-capped Babbler, Green-billed Coucal (heard), Sri Lanka Swallow, Black-capped Bulbul and White-throated Flowerpecker.

Sri Lanka, Gin River to Kithulgala

Currently on a birding trip to Sri Lanka, looking for the local 30+ (depending on taxonomic authority)  endemic species. So far we've had Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill, Sri Lanka Green Pigeon, Chestnut-backed Owlet, Lesser Sri Lanka Flameback, Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot, Emerald Collared (Layard's) Parakeet and Orange-billed Babbler.
