Scarce Bordered Straw at the Old Vic

I saw literally hundreds of Scarce Bordered Straws last week in Bulgaria but that did not dampen the excitement of finally get one at the Old Vic this morning. The 634th moth species for the site, the moth year list is now on 459.

A late Yellow Wagtail flew over the garden this morning, 5 Siskins went over and there's still a couple of Chiffs around and 3 Barn Swallow went over too. The bird year list for the garden is 64 species following the Treecreeper recently. Still haven't had Redwing this autumn yet which is due any day now.

Scarce Bordered Straw- nice to get something half decent this far inland out of this recent period of epic moth migration

This Common Darter in the trap last night was a bit of a surprise- first time I've had a dragonfly in the trap here if I remember right. There was also a Red Admiral by one of the house lights and I saw several flying around the airfield yesterday so presumably they are migrating at the moment too
