It was good to visit the farmlands again- the first time in several weeks. 54 species of 1138 individuals in about three hours which is pretty amazing really considering the location in South London. I managed similar species totals at the sites I visited in the Thames Estuary yesterday (although had over 5000 individuals there). Highlights included a Pintail, 2 Wigeon, 5 Green Sandpiper and 12 Lapwing. Ebird list HERE . The female Cape Shelduck (Cat E) was also still about.
There were also a couple of Willow Emeralds along the path.
After a bit of deliberation I've decided to do a week on the Azores next week and will meet up with David Monticelli so won't be on my own. Will be tough working the island with just us but will be nice to give it a go this autumn.
