Spent last night at a Luton hotel to get the early flight to Varna and then by the time I'd picked up supplies and sorted out all the recording equipment I finally managed the get the last couple of hours of light in the field; visited the project plot and went for a quick walk to the sea. Nice to see a few Pied and Spotted Fly, Common Redstart, singing Calandra Larks, Turtle Dove and Nightingales , singing Quails, Short-toed Lark, Red-rumped Swallow and Alpine Swift etc all on or within walking distance of the plot. I've got the moth trap, camera trap and noc-mig up on the plot tonight so fingers crossed.
