Weekend update

Juvenile Kestrel- one of two recently fledged birds on Parkside
Male Whitethroat- still singing on territory. Looks like most Whitethroat families have moved out already.
Small Tortoiseshell on Margoram (first time Margoram has been recorded on site- probably came in with the meadow mix)
Six-spot Burnets- about 10 on the mound
Essex Skipper- loads about. Probably 100+ on Horsefield alone and several 100 across the site
Rosy Footman

On the bird front- two adult and a juv LRP, 2 Common Sandpiper, a few Green Sandpiper, 20+ Lapwing, Wood Sandpiper and Greenshank in the week (via Devilbirder), 1 Shoveler, 2 Teal, 1 Peregrine, 4 Kestrel and tit flocks and Blackcaps and Chiffs along the edges.

Butterflies- 500-1000? Essex/Small Skipper (how can you count these things?), 5+ Marbled White, 100+ Meadow Brown, 20+ Large White, 10+ Small White, 40+ Small Tortoiseshell, 20+ Gatekeeper, 10+ Ringlet, 2 White-letter Hairstreak in the week (met up with the Biodiveristy team from Sutton to show them), 5+ Common Blue, 5+ Holly Blue, 4 Red Admiral and 3 Peacock.
