An execution

Interesting correspondence today with the Chair of the Beddington Farmlands Conservation Science Group (CSG), Dave Warburton. In light of the 5000 strong petition calling on Sutton Council to enforce planning conditions on Viridor and develop the Beddington Farmlands Nature Reserve I formally wrote to him and the CSG to ask for an official statement from the CSG to respond to the petition (as local councillors were responding in an inaccurate manner). I also suggested that unless the CSG takes a strong lead with enforcement and supports the local petition and local community than the CSG is nothing more than a front for the Viridor agenda. I've been a member of the CSG for nearly 10 years. Dave's response was to inform me that my position on the CSG is now untenable.

Your situation at BF is a microcosm for the whole country. We are going to hell in a handcart.

It's a corporate dictatorship, the local authority are their brownshirts. Its more subtle than historical oppressive regimes. Oppression is administered by policy that drives inequality and environmental decline, generating mass obsolescence and slow managed declines and states of hopelessness on industrial scales- and all in the name of freedom and democracy. Its been well played by the nation's evil bastards.

Were specific reasons given?

I described the unbalance of power in the group as some sheep and one wolf- with Viridor calling all the shots and also said unless we challenge Viridor legally on their continual breaches of conditions we will just be a front for the Viridor agenda- providing them with the greenwash they require making us all Viridor lackeys. I urged them to take serious enforcement action and to start to pursue legal action.

By expelling me is confirmation that the group is a front for Viridor and all members are Viridor shills.

Would you like someone to make the guy an offer he can't refuse?

It's a bit like the RSPB. Shocking.

Its just sad Ric and Brett- yes I'm a pain the arse to everyone on these management committees because I keep rocking the boat trying to get it moving in the right direction and they are mainly jobs worths happy to drift- problem is they don't care if all the wildlife is wrecked. That aint going to happen. If I cant rock this boat from the inside- they are going to get fucking rammed.
